You may remember my review from earlier this year for Camilla’s Pop Manga drawing book, where I discusses my newfound love for her style and art.  Well, she came out with a coloring book!!!!  The lineart chosen for this book is fantastic.  Leagues above the general/pattern adult coloring books.  And the detail lines are fine enough that you can ignore some of them to make a simpler piece.

My biggest problem was with the two page spreads.  I love them, but since they spanned two pages you have to deal with the gutter of the book.  To solve this problem, and the problem of wanting a harder surface to color on, I bought a second copy of this book, so I could tear the pages out when I choose to color them.

The intricacies of these images mean that it takes some time to finish a single image, which is why it took a bit to post this review.  I wanted to share an image that I had colored.  In the meantime, I found that someone else had posted their rendition of the same image on Instagram.  So, I decided to include it as well to show off that the lineart is just a starting point.  And you’re limited only by your imagination.

Markers, colored pencils, and watercolors work well with this paper stock, but the pages are double-sided.  Just be careful about bleeding through if you want to color both sides.
Have you colored any images from this coloring book?  I would love to see your versions, so post in the comments or link to your images!
