I’m going to try out something a little new, a little different. There are so many series that I love to follow, re-read, or want to dive into, so I’ve decided to start highlighting some of those on Sundays with an on-going series of posts about series. 🙂
To start it off, I want to talk about the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews, which I only just started reading last year or late the year before, but they are so easy to devour and I’m already caught up to book 9. I still need to read that one, but I’m comfortable enough with the series to share some overall thoughts before I finish it.
Hey all! Today I have an author interview to share. It seems like my last one was forever again (it probably was), but Emily R. King agreed to share a few things about her new series, starting with The Hundredth Queen. You may recall my review, but in case you missed it: I really enjoyed this book and have already pre-ordered both book 2 and book 3. Luckily, they have fairly close release dates (The Fire Queen is out in September and The Rogue Queen in February 2018). Anyway, here’s what she had to share with me! (Oh and the author’s running a contest RIGHT NOW for a bunch of awesome prizes! Check out the graphic at the bottom.)
I’m so excited to read this series! I don’t remember how I found out about it at first, but now I’m seeing it everywhere, and that makes me so happy! Since I love learning about different cultures, I’m fascinated by the concept of African mythology and practices to be included. It’s definitely different than the average fantasy being published, and I’m ready to have my mine blown by something new. Akata Witch just came out in paperback earlier this week, and Akata Warrior published later this year!
Paperback, 349 pages

I did a bit better with my reading by publication date challenge for June considering how far behind I fell in May, but I definitely want to share some June releases that I haven’t had a chance to read and review yet.
