Down the TBR Rabbit Hole #4

Down The TBR Hole is a meme from Lost in a Story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.

Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when youre scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well thats going to change!

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

Storybound (Storybound #1)

I have several retold fairy tales crossover books that I haven’t gotten to.  I think maybe I got burned out during that trend?  I will eventually read this one though because I love me some retold fairy tales!  Keep 🙂

Flesh and Blood (House of Comarré, #2)

This is book 2, and I own book 3 as well, and book 1 was really interesting.  So I just need to make time to continue the series.  Keep 🙂

I started reading this one when I first got it.  And I honestly don’t remember why I didn’t get very far before setting it aside.  So I’ll be keeping this one to try again.  Keep 🙂

Winterling (Winterling, #1)

I picked up this trilogy right around the time the third book came out, and I’ve tried to start the first book because it sounds fascinating.  It’s relatively short, so I’ll move it up my TBR for this year.  Keep 🙂

Dead on the Delta (Annabelle Lee, #1)

Looking at the synopsis for this, I don’t know why I haven’t read it yet!  This is definitely the next one I pick up once I’m finished with review books! Keep 🙂

Dragon in Chains (Moshui, #1)

This one sounds like it’s full of Asian-inspired mythology and folklore.  It still sounds fascinating!  Keep 🙂

Snake Agent (Detective Inspector Chen, #1)

Seems to have all the pieces of stuff I like in other series, so I just need to make time for it!  Keep 🙂

Touch of Power (Healer #1)

I really need to make a point to read Maria’s backlog.  They all sound so good!  Keep 🙂

The Will of the Empress (The Circle Reforged, #1)

If I’m being honest with myself, I will probably never read this one.  My heart lies in Tortall, and Tamora’s other series/characters just weren’t as compelling for me.

Remove 😦

Wild Magic (Drinker of Souls: Wild Magic, #1)

I’m really on the fence about this one.  It sounds intriguing and has lovely covers for the series, but I think I need to read the first chapter to see if the writing style works for me.   Keep for now 🙂

That’s it for this installment!  I did a recent purge of my collection and removed a bunch of stuff that I just didn’t think looked interesting anymore or that I know I won’t get around to anytime soon.  But I still have a huge TBR!  I don’t know how that works, but I still have plenty of these posts to go.
