From New York Times bestselling author Cora Carmack, the second in the captivating new YA fantasy/romance Stormheart series, perfect for fans of Kristin Cashore and Victoria Aveyard.
Princess or adventurer.
Duty or freedom.
Her Kingdom or the storm hunter she loves.
If Aurora knows anything, it’s that choices have consequences. To set things right, she joins a growing revolution on the streets of Pavan.
In disguise as the rebel Roar, she puts her knowledge of the palace to use to aid the rebellion. But the Rage season is at its peak and not a day passes without the skies raining down destruction. Yet these storms are different…they churn with darkness, and attack with a will that’s desperate and violent.
This feels like more than rage.
It feels like war.

I requested an arc of this book through the publisher and received one in exchange for an honest review, which does not affect my honest opinions listed here 🙂

In preparation for attending Penned Con in a few weeks, I scoured the list of attending authors to see who might already be sitting on my shelf (besides Elise Kova, who graciously provided the Penned Con ticket). I found one that I am excited to read her new book, Audrey Grey’s Oath Taker, and one that I’d received through OTSP Secret Sister, Kel Carpenter’s Lucifer’s Daughter.
Down The TBR Hole is a meme from Lost in a Story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.
Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when you’re scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well that’s going to change!
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?

GUYS! AND GALS! EVERYONE REALLY!! THE TIME IS ALMOST HERE!
First up, I have the last package from this round’s secret sister. She included a Zen Doodle coloring book, which I’m hoping will fuel my Zen Doodle silhouette anime series of drawings 🙂 Also, the third book in the Brimstone Angels series, which I’m trying to collect in mass market paperback. It’s hard because several are out of print >_< I think there’s only 1 or 2 that I’m missing now!
Today I’m sharing something a bit different! The new cover for book 3 of Amber Argyle’s Forbidden Forest series was shared in today’s email newsletter. The author is also hosting a giveaway for book 2 in the series, Piper Prince! Follow this link to enter!
Where light is, shadow cannot go.
The king is dead – killed by the same assassin intent on ending Larkin’s new reign as queen. Worse, the White Tree is dying, and with it, the magic the pipers use to defend themselves from the wraith. The same magic Larkin has used to keep the curse from destroying the man she loves. Because once that curse reaches Denan’s eyes, he will be worse than dead. He’ll be an inhuman mulgar bent to the will of the wraith.
As Larkin runs out of options, a message arrives from the wraiths. They will spare Denan, cleanse and return every single mulgar in their service on one condition: Larkin must heed the darkness growing within her and become one of them.
It’s an impossible and deadly trade. But if she’s to defeat the wraiths and solve the curse that has plagued their kingdoms for centuries, it may be the only choice she has left.
