It’s time for another mail haul post! These last two weeks have been so full of amazing that I can’t wait to share all the goodies that I received this week.
First, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Heart of Flames by Nicki Pau Preto (two copies actually – one from the publisher, Simon & Schuster, and one from a Twitter friend) and the lovely Owlcrate version with beautiful enamel pin that a friend purchased for me. I just started reading it and seems like it will be just as good as the first book, which I reviewed here.
I also received these wonderful books from the publishers/publicists representing them. I requested The Girl and the Stars by Mark Lawrence from Ace Books back when the cover was announced. Forest of Souls by Lori M. Lee is being published by Page Street Publishing, and they were kind enough to add me to their mailing list for this title. And Shadow Mountain reached out to see if I’d like to spotlight Willa and the Whale by Chad Morris and Shelly Brown, so look for that post on February 29! Big thanks to these publishers for sending such amazing books my way 🙂
One of my previous Secret Sisters snagged me the last ARC of Harrow the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir from ALA Midwinter, and I couldn’t be happier! It’s one of my most anticipated this summer, and I honestly don’t know if I’ll be able to wait until closer to release to read it. She also included some little bits of swag. This paperback of Fae Curse by Eve A. Hunt is signed by the author and payment for my help doing some last minute copyedits, which I was happy to help with. Check out my review of it here! And I couldn’t resist showing off these two enamel pins that I purchased for my collection: one for Nevernight and the other was inspired by Three Dark Crowns.
These last mail bits are clearly not books, but came in the mail nonetheless. SketchBox drew me in with a promise of skinny Chameleon markers, so I was well pleased with February’s box. I also bought myself some small slabs to assuage my hunger for printmaking. I’ve never used these before, so I’m hoping for good results. My cat is faithfully guarding my mail in the hopes that any empty boxes – no matter the size – end up on the floor for her to jump in. And my husband used 1-800-Flowers for the first time to send me these beautiful roses for Valentine’s Day. How sweet!
That’s it for now, but I’m sure I’ll have another haul post in the near future with more delightful goodies! Can’t wait to read/use these new items.
