I LOVE this series! To the point that I requested an ARC from the publisher and was granted an eARC. I read this back at the end of January because I couldn’t wait but can only now share my review with you. Big thanks to Ace for sending me an early copy! Which didn’t affect my honest review because, like I said, I already love this series.
This book starts off with a heavy dose of tension between Adam and Mercy. A bit of leftover from the harrowing events of the last book. Patricia has always been fabulous at conveying emotion through her writing, which really helps the reader feel fully immersed and committed to the characters.
As you can see, March is a big month for SFF releases! There are so many great looking books coming out this month, and I can’t wait to hear everyone’s thoughts on these. So definitely let me know in the comments!
It’s time for another mail haul post! These last two weeks have been so full of amazing that I can’t wait to share all the goodies that I received this week.
First, I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Heart of Flames by Nicki Pau Preto (two copies actually – one from the publisher, Simon & Schuster, and one from a Twitter friend) and the lovely Owlcrate version with beautiful enamel pin that a friend purchased for me. I just started reading it and seems like it will be just as good as the first book, which I reviewed here.

This is one that I contacted the publisher about and, happily, they sent along a finished copy to review after it released. This is no way affects my honest opinions. Nor should it affect yours!
I picked up some lovely goodies in late September that I must share! Great big thanks to Ace Books for providing this lovely finished copy of The Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith. As soon as I finish The Never Tilting World, this is my next read! I made an Amazon purchase when the third How to Train Your Dragon movie crept down in price and also found a fun-looking (and huge tome) in Bonnie L. Price’s Fateseal, which sounds marvelous. I also received my Patreon backer pin from Carla Morrow featuring a gorgeous luna moth dragon fly!
This was my first package from the new Secret Sister round. It contained two lovely books that retell one of my favorite fairy tales: East of the Sun, West of the Moon. I’d actually read East when I was younger but with the new sequel, I’m excited to read it again. And I’ve heard good things about Echo North, so here’s hoping I get to them both soon!
The last couple of weeks for me have been interesting as I’m starting my evening hours at my new job and am away from home most of the week. Because of that I haven’t had a chance to thank all the publishers and people who have sent books my way recently. So here goes!
A great big THANK YOU to Ace Books for sending an arc of one of my most anticipated fall releases, Novice Dragoneer by E.E. Knight, and a final copy of Juliet Marillier’s newest book The Harp of Kings. I also received an arc early, which I haven’t had a chance to read so chances are I’ll have a giveaway for the final copy when I do get it read 🙂
