Fangirl Friday: Nevernight series by Jay Kristoff

Today, I want to gush and nerd out about one of my favorite series, which also happens to be one of the best written trilogies I’ve ever read.

NEVERNIGHT

There are many reasons that my love of this series has grown into obsession, but mainly I think it’s because of the fabulous fanart I’ve been inspired to make.  Recently, in a pottery class, I crafted 2 versions of the ever-present crow dagger.  The first one had some promise but ultimately didn’t match my vision.

Fangirl Friday: #squad312 and #terminaluprising with not-the-heroes-you-wanted heroes

2019 is shaping up to be another marvelously fantastic year for new releases in science fiction and fantasy!  The covers are masterfully crafted, the authors are excited to share more and continuing stories, and the pre-order incentives have stepped up their game.

I wanted to bring your attention to two books in particular.  One that’s got some great hype already, and one that’s a little quieter but no less awesome.

Book Haul: January 1-6 2018

First book haul post of the year!  Woot!  Here’s the books I received during the first week of January.  These were a combination of review copies picked up at work, trades arriving, contest winning, and pre-orders coming in. This is going to be a fantastic year for books 🙂

The Cruel Prince by Holly Black (B&N special edition) is both a pre-order and a trade.  I’m loving both the black cover and the gold foil on the book itself!  Last Star Burning by Caitlin Sangster is an arc I received in a trade.  I’m pretty excited to read this one.

I received this finished copy of The Nine by Tracy Townsend from a blog contest last month.

Winter of Ice and Iron by Rachel Neumeier is an arc from a trade.  Heart on Fire by Amanda Bouchet is a pre-order.  Onyx & Ivory by Mindee Arnett, The Smoke Thieves by Sally Green, Likelik3 by Jay Kristoff, and Across the Dark Water by Jennifer Lynn Alvarez are review copies from work.  I’m going to have to be pretty picky about what 2018 releases I read with my current plans.

These last 2 are also arcs that I received through trade.  The Sky is Yours by Chandler Klang Smith and Don’t Cosplay with my Heart by Cecil Castelluci.  These weren’t on my radar until they were offered up for trade, so I’m excited for these two.
